Police in Seattle, Washington, said two people were arrested and at least 12 officers were injured during a protest in which government buildings and private businesses were damaged on July 19.
Seattle Police said there were multiple reports of property damage and looting in the area during the demonstrations. A police precinct, an Amazon Go store, and several Starbucks stores were also damaged, according to reports.
According to police, protesters broke windows and painted graffiti on buildings and 12 officers were injured as rocks, bottles, and fireworks were thrown at the West Precinct. “Blast balls and pepper spray were used to stop the assault on officers,” the Seattle Police Department said.
Two people were arrested, one for assault and the other for theft, police said.
