The Golden Globes are back — on CBS and Paramount+ — and bigger than ever, now with six slots per category. Gold Derby editors and Experts Christopher Rosen and Joyce Eng are here to share their Globe predictions for film and TV ahead of Monday’s nominations announcement.

In film, we have a lot of the usual Oscar suspects, including “Oppenheimer,” Killers of the Flower Moon,” “The Holdovers” and “Poor Things.” Thanks to “May December’s” entering in comedy, the entire Best Actress Oscar top 10 in the odds could score Globe nominations, but one of us is going out on a limb for a long shot. And which top contender did we both leave out of the Globes’ single screenplay category?

Over on the TV side, things could be pure chaos. Since the Emmys have been postponed until Jan. 15 — eight days after the Globes — there’s no awards data from the fall, never mind the fact that the groups use different eligibility periods. After obvious contenders like “Succession,” “The Last of Us,” “The Crown,” “The Bear” and “Beef,” it feels like the wild west filling out the slots. How will reigning comedy/musical series champ “Abbott Elementary” fare without having aired new episodes in the fall? Can “A Small Light” rebound after its disappointing Emmy showing? Will “The Curse” be blessed with noms?

Elsewhere, we discuss acting winner splits we’d like to see and Critics Choice TV nominations.
