EXO member Chen shared the release date of his 2024 comeback album, Door. The new mini-album will mark Chen’s fourth EP after his debut as a solo singer in 2019.

Kim Jongdae, aka Chen, is renowned as one of the best vocalists of K-pop. Apart from his solo releases, the 31-year-old singer has also contributed numerous K-drama OSTs cherished by fans.

Some of his most famous Korean drama original soundtracks include “An Unfamiliar Day” (Doctor Lawyer), “The Way to Love Me” (Doctor Slump), “Your Moonlight” (Do You Like Brahms?), and “Cherry Blossom Love Song” (100 Days My Prince).

Release date of EXO Chen’s comeback album Door revealed

EXO superstar Chen’s new album, Door, will be released on May 28. Chen’s label INB100 will share the album’s tracklist on May 22 and the highlight medley on May 24.

As per the official schedule of the mini album, the first mood poster of the album will drop on May 9.

After parting ways with SM Entertainment, this will be Chen’s first music release under the label INB100. So EXO-Ls anticipate the album will also see a shift in Chen’s musical concept, breaking the mold of his previous releases.

Since Chen’s solo music debut, K-pop fans have been impressed with the unique vocal qualities of the singer, which are reflected in all his EP releases. His debut EP, April and a Flower, holds a special place in the hearts of fans who prefer minimalist arrangements. The album, fitting to its title, focused more on Chen’s voices and presented something different than EXO’s typical R&B familiar sound.

The album peaked at number 2 on South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart, selling over 212,252 copies in his home country. His first comeback album, Dear My Dear, topped at number on Korea’s Gaon Album Chart, released on October 1, 2019.

Besides his striking chart performances, Chen has won several K-pop awards and nominations. The singer snagged the Best OST by a Male Artist award at the 2014 Seoul International Youth Film Festival for the song “Best Luck.” Later, he also won the Best Male Vocalist Award at the 2020 Korea First Brand Awards.
