PORTSMOUTH — Voices from the Heart, the Portsmouth women's chorus devoted to singing soulful multicultural music from around the globe, is welcoming new singers for its 2024 season.

"We are anticipating some openings in our chorus which will begin rehearsal on Feb. 12," says director, Joanne Connolly, "and we'd love to welcome some new women to our group! The spots for new singers will be filled  on a 'first come - first served basis.'  "

Voices from the Heart is a women's alternative chorus.  There are no auditions, and music reading is not required, just a desire to sing from the heart.  Voices sings a variety of soulful music from a range of cultural and musical traditions.  Voices rehearses every Monday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at South Church, 292 State St., Portsmouth.  Registration has begun for the upcoming season.  To join Voices from the Heart , please contact director , Joanne Connolly,  at joannasing@aol.com.

DOVER — The Art Center announced the unveiling of its highly anticipated Annual International Printmaking Exhibition running now through the end of February.  The public is invited to an exclusive Artist Reception on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m., allowing them to meet the artists and discuss their inspirations and artistic processes. Leading with Grace and Power: An Intimate Conversation with JerriAnne Boggis

PORTSMOUTH — Passionate about uncovering and celebrating New Hampshire's rich racial history, JerriAnne Boggis, a distinguished writer, educator, and community activist, will be featured in an exclusive interview at No to Patterns™: The Live Experience. As the Executive Director of the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire, she tirelessly works to correct the historical record of voices that have been marginalized.

This inspiring conversation, on Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. at 3S Artspace, Portsmouth, will delve into JerriAnne's profound commitment to preserving African-American history, shedding light on untold stories, and sparking important conversations that unite communities. Hosted by the founder of No to Patterns ™ and TEDx Speaker, Courtney Daniel, this event promises to be an enriching exploration of JerriAnne's journey in leaving a long-lasting mark on the Granite State.

DOVER — The Art Center announces "We Are Water," an evocative exhibition by painter Sharyn Paul. This exhibit embraces the essence of water and her love for it. 

Running now through the end of February, "We Are Water" is a testament to Sharyn Paul's deep-rooted connection to water. The artist's profound affinity for her element, stemming from her upbringing in Maine - a region with lakes and ocean - permeates her work.
