EXCLUSIVE: Walk and act like an ape with ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ Movement Coordinator

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” — the much-anticipated sequel to the “Planet of the Apes” franchise — is entering theaters nationwide this week.

In “Kingdom,” we are sent centuries into the future from the previous film, “War of the Planet of the Apes,” and are introduced to a handful of new characters. This is a continuation of the previous three films, but it also pays homage to the original 1968 classic.

Patrick Beatty, ABC4’s film critic and celebrity interviewer, put his skills to the test as he learned how to move and act like an ape from the film’s incredible movement coordinator, Alain Gauthier. Beatty also discusses how Alain learned the movements, his MVP (Most Valuable Primate) during Ape camp, and more.
