Exclusive: Megan Thee Stallion Details New Project, Says She’s “Doing A Lot More Producing”
Megan Thee Stallion confirms new music is on the way. Speaking with VIBE about her latest brand collaboration, Flamin’ Hot University, the 28-year-old discussed details of a project currently in the works. On the heels of “Bongos” with Cardi B, the Grammy Award-winning musician is prepared to dive into new sounds.
“[I’m] Working on my new project right now, and I am definitely experimenting. I am so excited because I was already ready to rap on different kinds of beats, but now I am doing a lot more producing than normal,” explained the Houston native.
“The type of music that I am making and the type I listen to are the complete opposite. I would listen to all of my music, but I want to make music that I don’t typically listen to. I am trying to blend the two worlds and I think it is coming out pretty crazy. I am excited for the Hotties to hear it because I think they are going to be surprised that it is the opposite direction of what they think it is going to be,” she continued.
The “Savage” performer continued to speak highly of her Hot Girl fanbase.
“I love the Hotties because they are logical people. I have the Hotties that be like, ‘We wanna hear you,’ which I love because I know you are excited and that keeps me going. But I also love the fact that the Hotties like quality. They know that they are going to get quality work out of me. They know I am writing and I’m going to say some crazy sh*t out here and stuff. I am excited that they are excited. You know it’s going to be good anyway.”
Megan Thee Stallion’s last release came in August 2022 with Traumazine. The album included features from Key Glock, Rico Nasty, Latto, Lucky Daye, Jhené Aiko, Dua Lipa, Future, and more. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America earlier this month.
