Kim Zolciak Biermann is returning to her Real Housewives of Atlanta roots, but just for a night.
"I didn't 'come back,'" Kim tells ET, referencing her much hyped guest spot on this Sunday's season finale. It marks her first appearance on the series since she walked off in the middle of season five.
Kim says she simply accepted an invite to current Housewife Sheree Whitfield's housewarming party, a big deal for the star and for RHOA fans. "Chateau Sheree" has been under construction for more than six years.
"I was really excited," Kim admits. "I hadn't seen any of the Housewives in five years, aside from Sheree. So, I was super excited to see some of them and see Sheree's house. [But] I wouldn't say I'm back. I was just at the finale party."
While she might not be back as a Housewife, Kim still knows how to act like one. In the finale promo, she's seen facing off with Kenya Moore.
"I don't even know that lady," Kim claims. "I met her one time before, I think it was the season I walked off, or something like that, but I had not really been around her."
For the record, Kim and Kenya did both film for season five, appearing in at least five episodes together. But back to Sunday's season finale: the ladies will hurl insults at each other -- and Kim says there's a good reason for it.
As Kim tells it, all guests were supposed to stay on the first floor of Chateau Sheree during the party, but Kenya went exploring. The reality star found her way into Sheree's unfinished basement, which seemingly hit a nerve. Kenya, of course, threw her own housewarming party at the top of season nine, and became the object of ridicule when the other women scoffed at her home being largely unfinished at the party. Kim says because of this, Kenya felt the need to let others know about the still under-construction parts of Sheree's home.
"So, I was like, 'Kenya, that's really rude,'" Kim recalls. "I was, more or less, sticking up for Sheree and then [Kenya] started ... poppin' off at the mouth. 'Maybe you should worry about your husband! Maybe you should worry about your kids.' She's like a dark cloud walking around."
"First of all, talking about my husband and kids is something you don't do, so that really pissed me off," she adds. "And then I started poppin' off at the mouth, 'cause she really wants my life. She wants a husband, she wants a family. But, unfortunately, she's just a dark cloud walking around in this world, I feel like."
While it's sure to be an epic showdown for the Housewives record books, we might not get a round two. When asked if filming for the finale got Kim itching to come back full-time, she just laughed.
"I don't know if there will ever be an itch to come back," she says. "It was nice to get out of the house and kinda see everybody again, and connect with them, but I see nothing's really changed with some of them. It's like, we're all grown-a** women. What is with this arguing? It's bizarre to me … the negativity that surrounds them is just gross. So, I don't miss the negativity that surrounds some of the ladies, for sure."
Still, hope is not completely lost. Kim would come back for "a big, fat paycheck, honey."
"Listen, I've got six kids I gotta take care of," she says. "I'm very motivated by money. But, definitely at this time, I'm filming season six [of my spin-off, Don't Be Tardy]. It's definitely a different vibe filming [Housewives] versus filming with your family. Totally different vibe."
"I also always choose my mental well-being first," Kim adds. "It would be many factors."
Rumors have circulated for months that Kim and NeNe Leakes could return full-time for Atlanta's landmark 10th season, but we might see them back together on a different show. Two years ago, Bravo announced plans for a Kim-NeNe buddy show where they take a road trip together, but the series never materialized.
"I was super excited about that, to be honest," Kim shares. "It was just, more or less, a scheduling issue. I had all my stuff going on, and she had all her stuff going on. You know, she's really funny and, again, money talks. So, I don't know. If at some point we can figure out scheduling, I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to it."
The Real Housewives of Atlanta's season finale airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Back in February, ET caught up with the show's current star, Kandi Burruss, who said she's "not mad at" the idea of Kim returning full-time. Check out the video below for more.
