Exclusive Blade Runner Tokyo Nexus #2 Covers Reveal

SuperHeroHype is debuting an exclusive look at three covers for the upcoming second issue of Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus, an upcoming comic book series from Titan Comics.

The comic series is set in 2015 — four years before the original film — and centers around two soldiers, Stix and Mead, the former of whom is a Replicant. The two travel to Tokyo, in search of a traitor to their unit who left them to die. The series is written by Kianna Shore with art from Rodolfo Talibo.

Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus is set to launch on July 31, 2024. The second issue will go on sale beginning on August 28, 2024, and will retail for $3.99. The issue will also feature different variant covers for people to choose from, with artwork from Butch Guice, Tom Mandrake, and Mariano Taibo.

What is Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus #2 about?

“Tokyo 2015: Two Kalanthia survivors fight for their lives in a world where Blade Runners are the least of their problems,” reads the official synopsis for the second issue. “Following a failed mission Off – World, the only two survivors of a combat squad, ex – marine Mead and Replicant combat model Stix, have returned to Tokyo to search for the traitor who left them to die. Now operating as an unofficial private detective agency, Stix and Mead find themselves caught up in a deadly Patent War between the Yakuza, the Tyrell Corporation and Cheshire, a rival corporation developing their own bootleg Replicant technology as they search for a missing woman.”

TItan Comics has been publishing books based on the setting since 2019. They have been acclaimed by fans of the franchise, as well as comic book critics. The new series will team veteran Blade Runner writer Mellow Brown with up-and-coming author Kianna Shore, and Cable artist Rodolfo Taibo.

The first issue of Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus will also feature a number of covers by various artists. Fan favorite Christian Ward will be producing the main cover. Other covers will be provided by Paul PopeAndy BelangerMariano Taibo, and Fernando Dagnino.
