EXCLUSIVE: 'OITNB' Star Jackie Cruz Teases Season 5, Justice for Poussey & Dream Job for Flaca!

*WARNING! This article contains spoilers from season four of Orange Is the New Black.

Jackie Cruz is just as excited about the all-new season of Orange Is the New Black as her fans!

ET caught up with the 30-year-old actress at Marie Claire's Fresh Faces fête at the Doheny Room in West Hollywood, California, on Friday, where she gave us the scoop on what's to come on the popular Netflix prison dramedy when season five premieres on June 9.

"It's going to be great," she dished. "It's things that you haven't seen before, a lot of surprises, and we're left with a cliffhanger."

"It's amazing," she continued. "It just keeps getting better. [Writer] Jenji Kohan is a genius."

As binge watchers may recall, at the end of season four, Samira Wiley's fan-favorite character, Poussey Washington, was tragically killed by prison officer Baxter Bayley, played by Alan Aisenberg, mirroring the Black Lives Matter movement. The new trailer shows Dayanara Diaz (Dascha Polanco) aiming a gun at prison guard Thomas Humphrey (portrayed by Michael Torpey), as her fellow inmates yell, "Pull that trigger."

When asked if there will be "justice for Poussey," Cruz said she thinks fans will be happy with how it's handled.

"Definitely," she revealed. "There's a riot happening, and we will show that we really did love her and we believed in justice."

This statement echoes what Cruz's co-star, Danielle Brooks (Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson) told ET back in January, when we caught up with her ahead of the SAG Awards.

"I'm happy with how we told the story," she said. "Poussey was a beloved character, a beloved friend of ours, and so we don't take her loss lightly as a group of misfits in jail, and as cast members. And neither do the writers. I think that we're honoring that legacy."

Cruz plays the sassy Marisol "Flaca" Gonzales in the series, and although she couldn't spill any secrets about what actually happens to her character in season five, she did reveal the dream storyline she'd love to write for Flaca's post-prison adventures.

"No. 1, she'd be a singer for sure," she exclaimed. "This line was actually cut from Orange Is the New Black, it was supposed to be in my backstory when I was in high school, but I want it to happen. It was, 'I'm going to move to Hollywood, make a record with Lady Gaga and call it Flac-gaga.'"

"That line got cut! But I would definitely want her to be let out of prison," she continued. "Show her story, her prison afterlife, [where] she's like a famous pop star. It'd be really cool. Tell Jenji that's what's up."

As for how Cruz has been spending her real-life break from Litchfield Penitentiary? She admitted there's been a lot of freedom.

"I've been traveling to Mexico. I have been working, but I also make work pleasure," she joked. "So, I went to Mexico for like three weeks. Just went and basically lived in Mexico, and I love it. That's pretty much it. I was on vacation."
