Ex-CBS Reporter Lara Logan Praises Fox News and Breitbart in New Interview (Video)

Sean Hannity wants Fox News to hire Lara Logan, after the former CBS News correspondent went on a tear this week, attacking the liberal mainstream media and lauding the merits of Fox News and Breitbart.“I mean this sincerely, I hope my bosses at Fox find a place for you,” Hannity told the former “60 Minutes” reporter during an interview on Wednesday. “I know that you want to still do great work and [be] independent and I think it would be a service if you did. I hope that you telling truth doesn’t end up in career suicide for you. We need the fair, honest investigative voices.”During the interview, Logan continued to unload on the press, calling out specific reporters by name including Politico’s Michael Calderone, Vanity Fair’s Joe Hagan and CNN’s Brian Stelter — who Hannity referred to as “Humpty Dumpty.”Also Read: Ex-CBS Reporter Lara Logan Praises Fox News and Breitbart in New Interview (Video)“They don’t get to write my story anymore,” Logan said. “They don’t get to speak for me.” As Calderone pointed out in his morning newsletter, both he and Hagan extensively covered a career low-point for Logan — namely her retracted 60 Minutes report from Benghazi in 2013.The story, which resulted in an apology and leave of absence for Logan, was based on a fabricated account of security officer Dylan Davies who falsely claimed to have witnessed the terrorist attack on a U.S, compound which killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others on September 11, 2012.“As Executive Producer, I am responsible for what gets on the air,” then executive producer Jeff Fager said in a memo at the time HuffPost reported. “I pride myself in catching almost everything, but this deception got through and it shouldn’t have.”Also Read: Chris Cuomo Calls Sean Hannity 'Without Question the Most Powerful Person in the Media'It’s unclear whether Fox News would actually consider Logan. Former CBS chief foreign affairs correspondent Lara Logan blasted the mainstream media, accusing it of liberal bias and praised conservative websites like Breitbart and Fox News for presenting the “other side” of issues.

“Unless you seek out Breitbart on your computer, you’re probably not even going to know what the other side is saying,” Logan said on an episode of retired Navy SEAL Mike Ritland’s Mike Drop podcast.

“This is the problem that I have. There’s one Fox, and there’s many, many, many more organizations on the left,” Logan continued. “The problem is the weight of all these organizations on one side of the political spectrum. When you turn on your computer, or you walk past the TV, or you see a newspaper headline in the grocery store If they’re all saying the same thing, the weight of that convinces you that it’s true. You don’t question it, because everyone is saying it.”

Logan also criticized what she said was the lowering of newsroom standards during the Trump era, in particular, the practice of publishing articles based on single anonymous administration sources.

“That’s not journalism, it’s horses–,” she said, noting that such coverage was the “bane of her existence.”

Breitbart editor in chief Alexander Marlow did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap. However, Breitbart praised Logan’s comments in an article. Reps for Fox News also did not immediately respond to request for comment.

“CBS’s Lara Logan breaks ranks!,” Breitbart senior tech correspondent Allum Bokhari said. He shared a Breitbart piece of her interview and added in other quotes from it — including that Logan’s belief that her remarks would be “professional suicide” for her.

While Logan’s remarks were praised in conservative media, CNN’s Brian Stelter took issue with several websites saying that Logan was still employed by CBS.

“Headline after headline says ‘CBS’ Lara Logan,’ and that’s not accurate,” Stelter wrote in his Monday evening newsletter. “Lara Logan stopped working at CBS last year, but right-wing websites keep making it sound like she’s still there. I guess they didn’t fact-check,” he added on Twitter Tuesday.

Logan was a longtime reporter with CBS and “60 Minutes” before she left the network in 2018.
