Former NFL running back Frank Gore has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking a naked woman and dragging her by her hair down the hallway of an Atlantic City hotel, according to a report.

Atlantic City Police announced on Tuesday that Gore, 39, had been charged with one count of simple assault connected to an alleged incident of domestic violence July 31 at the Tropicana Atlantic City.

Police arrived at the hotel around 8:11 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic violence dispute and found a 28-year-old Miami woman speaking with hotel security.

The woman “did not exhibit signs of injury” and no complaint was filed at the time, but police said an “ensuing investigation” led to the simple assault charges against Gore .

Gore is accused of “forcibly” grabbing the woman by her hair and “violently dragging her nude person along the floor of the 59th hallway,” according to court documents in the case obtained by Oxygen.com.

Oxygen.com reached out to the Atlantic City Police, who said they were not releasing any other information in the case.

Gore — who has yet to publicly comment on the arrest — is considered the third-leading rusher in NFL history. He earned 16,000 rushing yards during his 16-year career with the NFL and spent a decade with the 49ers, where he headed to five Pro Bowls, SF Gate reports. He also played for the Colts, Dolphins, Bills and Jets before retiring in June 2022 after signing a one-day contract with the 49ers.

Gore, who now lives in Southwest Ranches, Florida — about 30 miles northwest of Miami — had reportedly picked up boxing since his retirement.
