‘Evil’ to End With Season 4 at Paramount+

“Evil” will end with its upcoming Season 4 at Paramount+.

The series was renewed for a fourth season back in June 2022, though it was not reported at the time that it would be the final season. New episodes of the series will debut in May, with Paramount+ also ordering four bonus episodes to supplement the season. Production will begin on the new episodes in New York City in the coming weeks.

“We want to thank Paramount+ for giving us four bonus episodes to end ‘Evil’ in the world in style,” said Robert and Michelle King, series co-creators, showrunners and executive producers. “We will miss this show and cast. In many ways it was a dream project, but sadly evil will outlast ‘Evil’. See you in May.”

“Evil” originally debuted on CBS back in 2019. It was then shifted over to Paramount+ going into its second season. Season 2 debuted in 2021, while Season 3 aired in 2022.

“Robert and Michelle King created a unique and deeply entertaining way of exploring the intersection of religion and science,” said Jeff Grossman, executive vice president of programming at Paramount+. “We thank Robert, Michelle and the immensely talented cast and crew of ‘Evil’ and are incredibly proud of their collective work on the series. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for these characters, in what is sure to be a nail-biting, wild ride of a final season.”

The series is described as a psychological mystery that “examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion.” The series stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Andrea Martin, Kurt Fuller, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp.

“It’s hard to underscore the ability of Robert and Michelle King to cleverly craft thought-provoking stories that push creative boundaries time and time again, and ‘Evil’ is no exception,” said David Stapf, president of CBS Studios. “We’re proud to call them partners, and want to thank them both, Liz Glotzer, the entire cast and the crew for bringing these complex characters to life year after year as we celebrate this final season of ‘Evil.’”

Along with the Kings, the series is executive produced by Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon, and Sam Hoffman. The Kings and Glotzer executive produce via King Size Productions, which is under an overall deal at CBS Studios. CBS Studios produces the series. The series is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Next up for the Kings is the CBS drama series “Elsbeth,” which is a spinoff of their hit series “The Good Wife” and features Carrie Preston reprising the role of Elsbeth Tascioni.

This is now the second former CBS series that was moved to Paramount+ to announce its final season. The military drama “SEAL Team” announced that its seventh season would be its last back in November.
