The film begins with a group of friends vacationing in a lakehouse where a seemingly possessed girl named Jessica brutally scalps and decapitates her friends. Thereafter, the plot shifts to DJ Beth who reunites with her estranged sister and their children- Danny, Bridget, and Kassie. While the sisters try to address their complicated relationship, things go horribly wrong when an earthquake causes a hole in the parking garage, leading Danny to the book Naturom Demonto (or ‘Book of the Dead’). Driven by curiosity, he chants a few hymns from the book, switches on a tape recorder playing exorcism, and inadvertently releases the powerful entities called the ‘Deadites.’ Much to their horror shock and horror, these demonic entities possess their mother Ellie leaving a trail of bloody disaster.
Lilly Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland play Beth and Ellie, respectively. Other cast members include Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Noah Paul, Richard Crouchley, and Anna-Maree Thomas, to name a few.
