Aquaman star Jason Momoa is going blind for his new television drama.

The Peak TV era is becoming even more crowded this fall, with the launch of Apple TV+ on Nov. 1. Apple’s new streaming service will debut with nine original series (and roll out more every month).

Among those offerings is See, a post-apocalyptic drama starring Momoa and Alfre Woodard.

Here’s what you need to know about See on Apple TV+:

When does See premiere?

On Nov. 1, the day that the Apple TV+ streaming service launches. The subscription costs $4.99 a month, though customers who purchase a new Apple device can get a free year.

What’s See about?

Apple’s official synopsis says, “In the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see — who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes it’s witchcraft and wants them destroyed. Alfre Woodard also stars as Paris, Baba Voss’ spiritual leader.”

The show combines drama, action and adventure in sweeping settings. As conflict with the queen boils over, Baba Voss and his family grapple with the repercussions of the twins’ gift of sight.

Who is in it?

Aside from Momoa and Woodard, the series stars Sylvia Hoeks as Queen Kane; Hera Hilmar as Baba Voss’s wife Maghra; Christian Camargo as warrior general Tamacti Jun; and Archie Madekwe and Nesta Cooper as the twins Kofun and Haniwa.

What else is there to know?

The show was written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Francis Lawrence (Hunger Games).

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is spending nearly $15 million per episode, comparable to the final season of Game of Thrones.

The company is hopeful that See takes a page from the HBO hit’s successful playbook. As Apple vice presidents Jamie Erlicht and Zack van Amburg recently told Emmy magazine, “Can [See] be as epic as, say, a Game of Thrones? We answer that question early on with a resounding yes!”
