Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are now proud parents of two. While Rihanna’s show-stopping maternity looks and epic pregnancy announcements were very public (and for good reason!), the couple tends to keep their family life pretty private.
Even if she keeps her kids away from the spotlight, Rihanna has started opening up about life as a mother. In April 2024, she spoke to E! News about the joys of having two sons.

“It makes me feel really cool to be a boy mom,” the “Diamonds” the singer said. “I get to be as casual and busted as I want to, but it also forces me to embrace the epic things about being a woman and female and all my femininity — I embrace it so much more now.”
And while fans are on the edges of their seats waiting to hear that Rihanna and Rocky are dropping an album together, Rocky told Complex magazine in Nov. 2023 that they have an even better collaboration in the works.
“I think we do a real great job at collaborating making children,” he said. “I think that’s our best creation so far!”

RZA
The couple welcomed their firstborn on May 13, 2022.
On his first birthday, they confirmed that his name is RZA. He is named after the famous Wu-Tang rapper of the same name, and his middle and last name — Athelston Mayers — are the same as A$AP Rocky’s.
Rapper RZA shared the Islamic meaning behind his name back in 2015.
“In the Divine Alphabet, Z stands for Zig-Zag-Zig, which means Knowledge, Wisdom, and Understanding,” he wrote. “It’s the last letter of the alphabet and represents the final step of consciousness. So finally I just thought of the name as letters, as a title, not just a word. R-Z-A. It stands for Ruler-Knowledge/Wisdom/Understanding-Allah.”
RZA (and other kids of celebrities!) uses the beloved Tommee Tippee Ultra-Light Pacifier. And when it comes to his and his little brother’s style, Rihanna has a “hack” for picking out their clothes.
“When I dress them, I always try to dress them like Rocky,” she told Entertainment Tonight in April 2024. “Because I always envision dressing a girl, right? We all do as women, like, ‘Oh, I’m going to dress her in these cute little things,’ but then you get sons and you’re like, ‘What do I do?’ and I was like, ‘You know what, I have the biggest hack — their dad.’”
Both her boys also have braided hair, and that was a super intentional decision.
“This is a form of protection of our roots, and a tradition left by our ancestors … [it] makes us realize where we’ve come from,” Rihanna told Vogue China in March 2024. “This is our lost history. I immediately wanted my children to have their hair braided … it’s something in our blood.”
We also know that RZA is super smiley, he could be his mama’s twin, and that in May 2024, his dad shared the sweetest photos and videos on Instagram to celebrate his little guy’s second birthday.
As for whether he’s musically inclined like his parents, well, his mom shared his favorite tunes (mostly classic nursery rhymes) and that he gets “really emotional” when she sings “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
We also know that the Savage X Fenty founder’s son was breastfed. And what better way is there to share this fact than to pose with him in the brand’s sexy nursing bras and bralettes?

Riot
Their second child, Riot Rose, was reportedly born on Aug. 1. There are mixed reports surrounding the baby’s birth.
The first photos of Riot were revealed on Sept. 19. The family photoshoot had fans in a tizzy, wondering if the baby’s pink outfit coupled with the middle name “Rose” meant Riot is actually a girl. Just a reminder for the people in the back: Despite what gender norms would like you to believe, any sex can wear any color!
That said, the first reports of Rihanna giving birth claimed that the “Diamonds” singer had a “beautiful” daughter, so we can’t really blame fans for speculating. “She’s a perfect spitting image of Rihanna – even down to the light eyes,” a source told Media Takeout.
Baby No. 2’s name keeps with the family’s tradition of “R” names. Riot may be connected to A$AP Rocky’s recent song, “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n).”
Rihanna’s pregnancy with Riot was much different from RZA’s. She said she had no cravings and tons of nausea.
The “Umbrella” singer announced her second during her Super Bowl halftime performance. No. Big. Deal.
