The second half of "Rebel Moon" is a PG-13 rated movie with a runtime of two hours and two minutes. The plotline picks up on Veldt shortly after the Battle of Gondival in "Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire" and finds Kora (Sofia Boutella) and her remaining revolutionary recruits clashing once more with Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) and his Imperium legion aboard the flagship dreadnought, the King's Gaze.

"'Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver' continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made."

In typical Snyder fashion linked to the maxim that nothing exceeds like excess, an extended R-rated Director's Cut of both segment of "Rebel Moon" will also manifest themselves at a future date as the filmmaker declared in an EW interview:

"I'm super proud of the PG-13 version, the broader audience version, because I would say it really satisfies an awesome, timeless, mythological scope, [but] what we’ve done with the other version is fun and subversive because an R-rated sci-fi movie at this scale shouldn't exist," Snyder explains.

Longtime collaborator Tom Holkenborg, a.k.a. Junkie XL, joins Snyder again for "Rebel Moon's" operatic music, adding to his roster of superb Snyderverse scores on "Batman v Superman," "Zack Snyder's Justice League," and "Army of the Dead."
