From her very first performance in 2009 to her most recent cameo in 2023, a history of Swift on 'Saturday Night Live'
Fans probably remember it all too well.
Taylor Swift has a long history with SNL, first appearing on the show as a musical guest in 2009 and returning later that year to host.
She most recently made a cameo on the show on Oct. 14, 2023, popping in to introduce musical guest and friend and collaborator, Ice Spice.
Her new love Travis Kelce also made a cameo that night, delivering a line at the end of a sketch about the NFL and the league's presumed obsession with the Kelce-Swift romance. Kelce himself hosted the show on March 4, 2023, after his Kansas City Chiefs' big Super Bowl win.
With Swift's latest SNL appearance in the books — and fans hoping she'll return to host later this month, as the Oct. 28 slot remains open and falls just after 1989 (Taylor's Version) is slated to drop — take a look back on her lengthy history with the show.
Jan. 10, 2009: Taylor's 'SNL' Debut
At just 19 years old, Swift made her SNL debut as musical guest in early 2009, performing "Love Story" and "Forever & Always" off of Fearless in addition to popping up as an overzealous Annie in a sketch about Broadway.
Nov. 7, 2009: Hosting 'SNL'
Hosting the show for the first (and so far, only) time later that year, Swift famously opened the evening with her "Monologue Song," dryly calling out ex Joe Jonas, her maybe-flame Taylor Lautner and of course, Kanye West (leading cast members Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis to jump on stage as security). Her acting that night ran the gamut from performing in a Twilight spoof and appearing as herself on an fake entertainment show to playing a headgear-wearing teen in a fake PSA.
She performed Fearless tracks "You Belong with Me" and "Untouchable" in her double role as musical guest, too.
April 12, 2014: Popping into a Monologue
Maybe she was in the neighborhood? When Seth Rogen hosted in 2014, Swift made a cameo in his monologue, alongside James Franco and Zooey Deschanel.
"You're getting really upset, and whenever a man shows emotion, I appear," she joked before announcing the night's musical guest, her friend and collaborator Ed Sheeran.
Feb. 15, 2015: Joining 'The Californians'
On SNL's star-studded 40th anniversary special, Swift joined an A-list group that included Kerry Washington and Betty White for an expanded version of the recurring sketch, "The Californians."
Nov. 11, 2017: Back as Musical Guest
When Tiffany Haddish made her history-making, Emmy-winning hosting debut in 2017, Swift was in her Reputation era as musical guest, singing "Ready for It?" and "Call It What You Want."
Oct. 3, 2019: Once Again Returning as Musical Guest
For her musical guest moment on Phoebe Waller-Bridge's SNL episode, Swift sang “False God” and "Lover" from her album of the same name.
Nov. 13, 2021: Her Most Recent Major Moment
Swift scored extra screen time in 2021, performing the 10-minute version of her newly re-released hit "All Too Well" off of Red (Taylor's Version) with highlights from the accompanying short film playing in the background.
But she got to have a little fun, too, singing the bridge in the Pete Davidson-led Please Don't Destroy music video entitled "Three Sad Virgins."
October 14, 2023: A Surprise Cameo
It lasted all of 2 seconds, but Swift's Oct. 14, 2023, SNL season premiere cameo was buzzy for a few reasons: she was introducing friend Ice Spice; no one knew it was coming; and her new love Travis Kelce also had a surprise cameo on the show that night.
