Nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced July 12 by Yvette Nicole Brown, and the overlapping section of the Venn diagram featuring Marvel Cinematic Universe actors and Emmy nominees grew a little bit larger, just like it has every year since Kevin Feige created his own onscreen playground.

Half of the new additions come from FX’s critically acclaimed series “The Bear.” Stars Ayo Edebiri, Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach all snagged their first Emmy nominations for their work on the culinary-themed show. Edebiri, who will appear in 2024’s “Thunderbolts,” received a Best Comedy Supporting Actress nom, while Bernthal and Moss-Bachrach, who co-starred in the first season of Marvel’s “The Punisher,” earned bids for Best Comedy Guest Actor and Best Comedy Supporting Actor, respectively.

Elsewhere, “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Elizabeth Debicki was nominated for her performance as Princess Diana on Netflix’s “The Crown,” Steven Yeun, who will join Edebiri in “Thunderbolts,” is a nominee for Best Limited Series/TV Movie Actor for his work in the streaming service’s dark comedy “Beef,” and “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” star Aubrey Plaza earned her maiden bid for Season 2 of HBO’s “The White Lotus.” She’ll appear in the “WandaVision” spin-off opposite Kathryn Hahn, who received her third Emmy nomination, this time for her turn in Hulu’s limited series “Tiny Beautiful Things.”

In addition to Hahn, there are several MCU stars who are back in the running this year. Brett Goldstein was an Emmy winner for “Ted Lasso” before he entered the MCU as Hercules in the mid-credits scene of “Thor: Love and Thunder” (2022). He earned another nomination this year and is now gunning for the three-peat. Meanwhile, Matthew Macfadyen, who will be in 2024’s “Deadpool 3,” is now hoping to score back-to-back Best Drama Supporting Actor wins for “Succession.” Other former nominees who received nominations this year were F. Murray Abraham, Mahershala Ali, Angela Bassett, Jeff Bridges, Arian Moayed, Kumail Nanjiani and Evan Peters.

And yet still no one comes close to Emmy queen Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who debuted as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” She reprised the role in the post-credits scene of 2021’s “Black Widow” and made a surprise appearance in 2022’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” in which it’s revealed that Val and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), used to be married. JLD, who will lead the charge in “Thunderbolts,” is the most decorated Marvel star with 11 wins and 26 nominations to her name and is tied with the late Cloris Leachman (sadly never a Marvel star) for the most Emmys for a performer at eight.

We’ve pulled together the list of actors who’ve appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also have at least one Emmy nomination to their name in any category. It stands as a testament to the immense talent on display in the MCU.
