On January 10, former "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker, along with other cast members, posted a teaser trailer for the next installment in the series on Instagram.

Immediately, longtime fans were quick to share their excitement for the new installment, with Parker's post alone receiving over 1 million likes in less than 24 hours.

"We have some new stories to tell," Parker wrote on Instagram. "We are excited."

Cynthia Nixon will be reprising her role as corporate lawyer Miranda Hobbes.

Nixon, who received a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress in Netflix's "Ratched," will be returning to the reboot, she announced on social media.

"Anything is possible. This is New York," she captioned a tweet of the trailer for "Just Like That..."

In addition to her acting roles, Nixon has also been active in politics. A member of the New York chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, Nixon ran against Governor Andrew Cuomo in New York's Democratic primary election in 2018. Though she lost the primary, she has remained a staunch figure in progressive politics.

Kristin Davis will be returning to the role of Charlotte York-Goldenblatt.

Davis played the role of New York gallerist Charlotte York-Goldenblatt in all six seasons of the show and in the two feature films.

Not much is known about her character's arc in the reboot. However, it can likely be assumed that her story will pick up where the final movie left off as she raises her two daughters, Lily and Rose, with her husband, Harry Goldenblatt.

Chris Noth, who played Carrie Bradshaw's love interest Mr. Big, will be returning, executive producer Michael Patrick King confirmed in May.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Chris again on 'And Just Like That…'" King said in a statement, The Hollywood Reporter reported. "How could we ever do a new chapter of the 'Sex and the City' story without our Mr. Big?"

While it's still unclear what Noth's storyline will be and if he will be in all 10 episodes, we can at least now confirm Mr. Big will once again be gracing our screens. Noth played the role of Carrie's emotionally unavailable love interest in all six seasons of the original show and in both of the feature films.

John Corbett, who played Aidan Shaw, also said he'll be returning to the series.

Corbett appeared throughout three seasons of the six-season show, in addition to the second "Sex and the City" movie.

"I'm going to do the show," Corbett, 59, told Page Six in April. "I think I might be in quite a few [episodes]. I like all those people, they've been very nice to me."

David Eigenberg, who played Miranda Hobbes' love interest Steve Brady, is also returning.

On June 9, executive producer Michael Patrick King confirmed that Eigenberg would be reprising his role as Steve Brady.

Citing a source, Page Six previously reported that Eigenberg wouldn't be returning to play Steve Brady, Miranda's bartender boyfriend-turned-husband with whom she had a child.

However, a rep told the publication that he was in negotiations to appear in the limited series.

Eigenberg himself also gave fans hope he would be appearing in the project, which he called "interesting," after all.

"[Cynthia Nixon's] a dream to work with," he told Us Weekly.

Evan Handler will also be returning as Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte's husband.

Handler played Kristin Davis' love interest in seasons five and six, as well as in both of the "Sex and the City" films. The character of Harry is universally adored by fans of the show, who were excited to learn on the reboot's Instagram page that he would be returning.

"I'm schvitzing like a pudding at a picnic THIS IS AMAZING," one fan commented.

Others wondered about his storyline and how it would play into the other characters'. Referencing Goldenblatt's career as a divorce attorney, one user commented, "Will somebody be needing his services?"

Willie Garson, who played Stanford Blatch, will also return to the series.

Willie Garson's casting was confirmed by the "And Just Like That..." Instagram page.

In January, the actor posted a photo to his own Instagram account with a headline announcing "And Just Like That..." Kristin Davis commented on the post, saying, "Of course Stanford will be back !!"

As will Mario Cantone, who played Stanford's love interest Anthony Marentino.

Cantone was a regular cast member throughout the show's run, as well as in both feature films. He is most well known for being Stanford's primary love interest and Charlotte York's wedding planner and best friend.

"Everyone at 'And Just Like That…' is thrilled to be able to continue the storylines of these beloved 'Sex and the City' characters with the actors who made them so lovable," King said of Cantone, Handler, Eigenberg, and Garson's casting, according to Deadline.

Sara Ramírez, a nonbinary actor best known for their role on "Grey's Anatomy," will play comedian and podcast host Che Diaz.

Ramírez previously made history as the longest-running LGBTQ+ character on a television show for their role as Dr. Callie Torres on "Grey's Anatomy." They were a cast member on the show for 13 years.

In "And Just Like That...", Ramirez will play a nonbinary, queer stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is a regular guest, according to Deadline.

"Everyone at 'And Just Like That…' is beyond thrilled that a dynamically talented actor such as Sara Ramírez has joined the 'Sex and the City' family," executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement. "Sara is a one-of-a-kind talent, equally at home with comedy and drama – and we feel excited and inspired to create this new character for the show."

Kim Cattrall, who played sex-positive publicist Samantha Jones, will not be returning for the new limited series.

In response to two comments on her Instagram post about whether Cattrall would be returning to the next chapter, and whether the two disliked each other, Sarah Jessica Parker said, "No. I don't dislike her. I've never said that. Never would. Samantha isn't a part of this story. But she will always be a part of us. No matter where we are or what we do."

In an interview with TVLine in February, HBO Max's chief content officer, Casey Bloys, explained how the show would address Cattrall's absence.

"Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave," Bloys said. "Friendships fade, and new friendships start. So I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life."

Neither will Jason Lewis, who played Samantha's actor boyfriend Jerry "Smith" Jerrod.

"Sex and the City" star Jason Lewis just put a stop to speculation over whether he'll be a part of the new series.

"I have not [been approached], but I would be the last to know! As much as I appreciate the flattery, the conversation is about the girls," he told the Daily Front Row in April.

Lewis played opposite Kim Cattrall, who will also not be a part of "And Just Like That..." in the sixth season of the hit series and in both of the "Sex and the City" movies.

Lynn Cohen, who played Miranda's housekeeper Magda in both the show and the two movies, passed away in February 2020.

Lynn Cohen was a veteran actor best known for her role as Magda, Miranda's stern but affectionate housekeeper and nanny, in "Sex and the City," as well as roles in "Damages," "Nurse Jackie," "The Affair," "Law & Order," and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."

Cohen passed away at the age of 86 on February 15, 2020. Following the announcement of her death, messages poured in from her former "SATC" cast members.

"Many people knew & loved Lynn Cohen as Miranda's stalwart Polish nanny Magda. To me she was that & so much more — an involved citizen, a true friend & a great actress in so many different roles," Cynthia Nixon tweeted. "I will miss her so much."

Sarah Jessica Parker captioned a photo of the late actress on Instagram, "Beautiful Lynn Cohen. Miranda's dear and necessary Magda. Our dear SATC colleague. Talent, grace, inspiration. RIP."
