Zodiac signs can say a lot about people, allegedly: compatibility, demeanor, personality traits and more. Even top elected leaders and Texas politicians have their signs written in the stars, too.

With 12 signs in the zodiac, each have their own symbols, characteristics, celestial longitudes and connotations.

Here are some of the top ranking government officials’ sun signs, which may explain some of their personalities in politics.

President Joe Biden (Nov. 20) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (Nov. 13): Scorpio

The nation’s president and the Texas governor are Scorpios, one of the most polarizing signs in the zodiac. The astrological sign is the eighth in the zodiac, and is marked as a water sign. The well-fitting symbol for Scorpio is a scorpion.

While some bad traits of the sign include:

Vice President Kamala Harris (Oct. 20) and Beto O'Rourke (Sept. 26): Libra

The vice president and former Texas democratic gubernatorial candidate are Libras, coming after Virgo season. The astrological sign is the seventh in the zodiac, and falls as an air sign. The symbol for Libra is scales.

Good traits include:

  • Loving

  • Optimistic

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (Dec. 22) and Suspended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (Dec. 23): Capricorn

The two politicians are Capricorns, with their birthdays falling just days before Christmas. The sign is the tenth in the zodiac, and is an Earth symbol.

The lieutenant governor is an Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. It is one of three fire signs, with its symbol being a ram.
