Apple TV+ hosted another FYC campaign event with some of the Ted Lasso cast on Saturday at The Maybourne Beverly Hills.
Sprung premiere
The cast and creator of Amazon Freevee’s original comedy series Sprung gathered on Sunday for the premiere event hosted at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Creator Greg Garcia, along with stars Martha Plimpton, Garret Dillahunt, Phillip Garcia, Shakira Barrera, James Earl and Clare Gillies were in attendance to celebrate the series’ launch.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law premiere
Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Griffin Matthews walked the green carpet at the She-Hulk launch event in Hollywood on Monday.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premiere
On Monday, Prime Video hosted a Middle-earth-themed red carpet and premiere screening event in celebration of its new Lord of the Rings series at The Culver Studios. At the afterparty, guests were surprised by a drone show over the event, consisting of images they had seen during the screening of the first two episodes.
Look Both Ways premiere
Netflix debuted new film Look Both Ways, starring Lili Reinhart, David Corenswet and Danny Ramirez, at Los Angeles’ Tudum Theater on Tuesday.
Spin Me Round premiere
Co-writers Jeff Baena and Alison Brie premiered their indie comedy at The London West Hollywood on Wednesday alongside cast members Aubrey Plaza, Molly Shannon and Fred Armisen.
Hollywood Confidential Trailblazer Award
On Thursday in Beverly Hills, TV producer/ content creator Steve Jones and Hollywood Confidential honored author and influencer Tabitha Brown with the Trailblazer Award. Lena Waithe attended as a surprise special guest, and the event also honored rising stars Shaniqua Shandai and Derrick King.
This is About Humanity’s 4th annual fundraiser
Henry and Stacey Winkler hosted a starry benefit Aug. 27 that drew Kim Kardashian, Zooey Deschanel, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Idina Menzel, Darcy Carden, Brian Grazer and others. The nonprofit — founded in 2018 by Elsa Marie Collins, Zoe Winkler Reinis and Yolanda Selene Walther-Meade — is dedicated to raising awareness about and supporting separated and reunified families and children at the US-Mexico border. The evening raised north of $700,000 and shined a spotlight on honorees Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent who funded two years of housing for LGBTQ+ migrants at the US-Mexico border and provided bedding for youth at the CASA YMCA Shelter for Unaccompanied Minors.
The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection opening reception
Last Thursday, art and culture insiders headed to SoFi Stadium where Kinsey toasted its partnership with Inglewood-based Residency Gallery to launch Continuum, a new exhibition featuring Inglewood and greater L.A.-based contemporary artists. Curated by Khalil Kinsey and Rick Garzon, the show hosted close to 1,000 guests and featured works by Genevieve Gaignard, Patrick Martinez, Jaimie Milner, Lyndon Barrois Sr, Texas Isaiah, Samuel Levi Jones, Yasmine Nasser Diaz and others. Those making the rounds were former Lakers Derek Fisher and Norm Nixon, Shaun Robinson, Amanda Seales, Cassandra Freeman, Kareem Grimes, Spencer Paysinger, Dom Kennedy, Inglewood mayor James T. Butts and California senator Steven Bradford.
