The 24th annual film fest, which ran Oct. 12 to Oct. 19, honored stars including Patricia Clarkson, Jack Huston, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, William Shatner, Eugenio Derbez, Mark Ronson, Glenn Howerton and Todd Haynes, and featured talks with Rainn Wilson, Judy Blume, Susan Feniger and Bobby Berk.

Legacy Ball

Legacy Youth Leadership held its third annual Legacy Ball event on Saturday, with the evening’s top honor, the Legacy Award, presented to Scott Evans, while PwC received the Vision Award for their company’s support in helping build the leaders of today.

Family Equality’s LA Impact Gala

Family Equality held its LA Impact: No Place Like Home gala on Saturday, raising more than $350,000 for Family Equality’s critical work on behalf of LGBTQ+ families. Niecy Nash-Betts and Bruce Cohen were honored at the Hollywood event.

National LGBTQ Task Force Gala

On Saturday, The National LGBTQ Task Force held its National Gala at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Hosted by drag performer Latrice Royale and actor Dyllón Burnside, the event honored Pose star Dominique Jackson with the 2023 National Leadership Award.

Last Chance for Animals Gala

Last Chance for Animals, an international animal rights organization, held its annual fundraising gala on Saturday in Beverly Hills, where Diane Warren received the Sam Simon Award in honor of her passionate work as an animal rights and animal welfare activist.

God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards

God’s Love We Deliver, NYC’s only nonprofit provider of medically tailored meals and nutrition services for individuals living with severe illness, hosted its 17th annual Golden Heart Awards on Monday, honoring Ben Platt and Scarlett Johansson for their work on behalf of causes addressing AIDS, cancer, hunger and inclusion.

Queen of New York premiere

Queen of New York, chronicling drag queen Marti Cummings’ run for NY City Council, screened at NewFest in NYC on Monday.

Nyad special screening
