‘Even Though My Parents Didn’t Introduce Me To Charlie, They Gave Me Their Blessing,’ Claims Former Manson Family Member

Dianne Lake says when she was a teenager her parents became enmeshed in the psychedelic counterculture of the 1960s.

Claiming her father introduced her to marijuana and LSD when she was just 14, Dianne says it was just a few months later in 1967, shortly after her parents “dropped out” and moved the family into a bread truck that she met bourgeoning cult leader, Charles Manson.

“My mom met Charlie and she gave him my picture, even though my parents didn’t introduce me to Charlie, they gave me their blessing,” claims the author of the new book, Member of the Family: My Story of Charles Manson, Life Inside His Cult, and the Darkness That Ended the Sixties.

Dianne says she began having sex with Manson and was indoctrinated into the Manson “Family” becoming the youngest known member of the group.

She says when she first met Charles Manson, he was funny and playful. “Charlie made me feel very much a woman and loved and adored,” says Dianne. She claims it was about a year later when he began to “unravel.”

Two years after Lake says she joined Manson’s “Family,” Charles Manson emerged as the mastermind behind a number of ritualistic slayings in Los Angeles over two nights in the summer of 1969.
