Brass Ring Pizza Kitchen

The Brass Ring in Haubstadt has added a pizza kitchen. On the menu are build-your-own pizzas and specialty pizzas The Meats (with pepperoni, sausage, wagyu beef, ham and bacon) and The Don (with all the meats and mushrooms, green and black olives, onions, green pepper and banana peppers). Cheese bread; bread sticks; Mookie Bread with cream cheese, bacon and jalapenos; and pizza oven sandwiches including strombolis, hot ham and cheese and chicken bacon ranch are also available. The Brass Rings normal bar menu is still offered as well.

New restaurant offers sneak peek in Henderson

Cardarelli’s Café is an upcoming restaurant inside All Peddlers Vendors Outlet in Henderson. The restaurant plans to open in November, but a fish fry and cook out will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, and Sunday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. On the menu will be fried cod with slaw, fries and hushpuppies, chili, chili dogs and hot dogs, peach cobbler and drinks.

Dia del los Muertos

A Dia de los Muertos celebration will happen in Central Park in Henderson, Kentucky, on Saturday, Oct. 28. Enjoy food trucks, a beer garden, sugar skull decorating, face painting, crafts, a live Norteño band, dancing, a parade and a candlelight procession to honor loved ones who have passed on. There is no entrance fee.

Evansville Farmers Market

The Evansville Farmers Market will have its last market of the year on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop for locally-raised produce, eggs and honey, food trucks, handmade goods, and a special Trunk-or-Treat. The market now accepts SNAP/Ebt.

The Evansville Farmers Market will be at 5001 Washington Ave. at Washington Square Mall.

German Halloween Party

The Evansville Germania Maennerchor will host a Halloween party and half pot on Friday, Oct., 27, from 5-11 p.m. Enjoy a dinner of Nisbet Inn's rib gumbo, tomato soup and pimento cheese, grilled cheese or fried bologna sandwiches with desserts. Costume contest winners and half pot second and third place winners will receive restaurant gift cards and other prizes. Must be 21 to attend.

New restaurant in New Harmony

Fire & Ice restaurant in New Harmony will be opening on Saturday, Oct. 28. The shop will sell ice cream made by JB's Barnyard, soup, sandwiches, and old fashioned shakes and floats.

Frankie's Restaurant expanding

Frankie’s Restaurant, a new restaurant on Evansville's East Side, has already expanded and added a second dining room which can seat over 20 more diners, and is now serving beer and wine. The restaurant, which opened in July, has become popular for big breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches and more.

Frankie's Restaurant is at 6840 Logan Drive.

Cork & Cuisine

The Owensboro Convention Center will host a Halloween special Happy Hallowine Cork & Cuisine dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 6 p.m. On the menu are an appetizer platter with fruit, veggies, cheese and spicy chicken dip with crostini; chicken gnocchi soup; salad of shaved brussels sprouts with cranberries, cheddar and almonds; beef filet with pear and cranberry chutney and a ricotta ravioli with roasted asparagus and corn fritter; and a cookie trio for dessert. Each course will be paired with a complimentary wine or other beverage. Tickets are $75 for an individual or $130 for a couple plus fees. Expect Halloween trivia and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.

Afghan restaurant adds buffet

Pamir Afghan Cuisine restaurant in Owensboro, Ky., now has an all-weekend buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 5-9 p.m. (note these are the only hours the restaurant is open). The buffet is $18 for adults and $10 for kids under 10. It contains an assortment of traditional Afghan dishes from the menu and other, off-menu specials as well. Regular menu ordering is also offered.

New food truck

Rollin Rudy’s food truck from Southern Illinois is now licensed to sell in Vanderburgh County and will be rolling our way soon with a menu of sandwiches, hot dogs and sausages, loaded fries, funnel cakes and fresh fruit shakeups.
