No knocking boots yet! Though they’ve been engaged for over six months (and together for more than a year and a half), Evan Spiegel and Miranda Kerr are apparently not having sex. Why do we know this? Because Kerr announced it. During a recent interview with the Times of London, the supermodel said that her fiancé is “traditional,” so they were waiting to sleep together until “after” they “get married.” She added, “We can’t … I mean, we’re just … waiting.” OK, thanks for clearing that up!

Many questions remain, though. It’s not entirely clear from the Victoria’s Secret model’s comments whether Spiegel is an actual, legit virgin or a more figurative “born again” virgin (à la Russell Wilson and Ciara). Based on the fact that the 33-year-old beauty was married to Orlando Bloom for three years and they share a son together, it’s safe to say that she is not, in fact, a virgin. Also, from Kerr’s explanation, it definitely sounded like the Snapchat founder is the driving force behind their abstinence, not her.

It’s also not obvious whether she meant that they are abstaining for a period of time prior to getting married or if they have not slept together at all yet — but there’s no need to split hairs here. The point is, Spiegel is choosing not to bed his supermodel bride to be until after they make it official.

Kerr has a famously friendly relationship with her movie star ex, though there’s no word from his camp on how he feels about his former love’s latest relationship revelation (though he probably doesn’t care all that much, as he’s been happily dating Katy Perry).

Kerr and Spiegel are slated to tie the knot later this year, and Kerr noted that she wasn’t considering having another baby until after the ceremony takes place, adding that she isn’t using contraception because … well … she doesn’t need to.

She also admitted that she wasn’t sure if she was into her future husband when they first met. “I was like, ‘He’s cute … but he’s way too young to take seriously,'” she recalled. Still, she was intrigued enough to stay in touch, and things developed from there. “It was slow and steady. I was like, ‘Is he even interested?’ But once I let him know I was interested, he was very interested.” Surprise, surprise.

While plenty of questions remain around the technicalities of this self-imposed abstinence, one thing’s for sure: Their wedding night is going to be a pretty special one.
