Taking the high road! Celebrities get their fair amount of scrutiny on social media, and Eva Mendes is no exception. However, the 45-year-old doesn’t let the negative comments affect her — instead, she sets an incredible example for her haters and responds with kindness.
The actress took to Instagram on Jan. 4 to share a video of the bold and brightly colored dress she had recently designed, which she dubbed The Natalya dress. “LOVE THIS DRESS!!! Thank you @alejandroblanco for creating this with me! Love love love this!” she wrote on the social media platform. But not everyone was pleased.

One Instagram user in particular took to the comments section to poke fun at the dress, saying the actress is “too pretty for these ugly patterns.” “Don’t like these designs, you need a better designer,” the comment read.
Eva, being the class act she is, didn’t get angry, offended, or even defensive. Instead, she replied politely — and lifted other women up in the process.
“I’m so sorry you don’t like this one. It happens to be my favorite piece of my new collection. But I’m sure there’s other stuff you may like,” she wrote back to the commenter before plugging Kate Hudson and Gabrielle Union’s clothing lines. “If not @katehudson and @gabunion design some great things. So there may be something for you there. Sending love for 2020 ❤️”
Way to go, Eva. Now that’s how you handle an online troll. Fans were quick to support the star who chose kindness over negativity. “Girl, you’re so kind. Such a positive response to something negative,” one fan shared.
