Felicity Huffman's "Desperate Housewives" co-star Eva Longoria penned a heartfelt letter to the judge in her college bribery scandal case, and she wants them to know of her work with charities supporting minorities.

The letter, obtained by The Blast, begins with Eva describing how Huffman was a huge support system when she was starting out on the set of the hit tv show.
As we reported, prosecutors in the case are asking for Huffman to do at least one month in federal prison. They are also asking for a $20,000 fine.
“To a young, naive Mexican girl who felt like I didn’t belong, those gestures meant the world to me,” Longoria wrote in her letter about Huffman helping her in Hollywood.
Longoria praised Huffman specifically for volunteering with her Latino charities.
"I can't tell you how many times she was the only one who would physically show up and help me with kids with cancer, or children with special needs," she wrote.
"The most special part is that my charities were always for children of the Latino community. I did the work because I am Latino, but Felicity didn't have to, she wanted to. There were so many times Felicity was the only white woman in the room helping me improve the lives of brown faces and families. I will never forget that."
She concluded the letter with this:
"She always leads with her heart and has always put others first. This is why I still call her my friend today and always. Thank you for your time."
Huffman is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 13 in Boston.
