Europe Warms to ‘Cold Feet’ As ITV Orders Second Season

ITV has announced an order for a second season of rebooted comedy-drama “Cold Feet,” as ITV Studios Global Entertainment closed sales for the show for seven markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“Cold Feet,” which originally ran for five seasons from 1998 to 2003, returned last month after a 13-year hiatus. The show’s original stars, James Nesbitt, John Thomson, Robert Bathurst, and Hermione Norris, all returned for the new series. It proved a ratings hit, with the opening episode recording a consolidated audience of 8.4 million.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has now sold the rebooted show to NPO Netherlands, ITV Choice Africa, Yes in Israel, MTV Oy Finland, RUV Iceland, TV4 Sweden and NRK Norway. The deals were closed by the company’s newly reorganized EMEA regional sales team.

“We are thrilled at the warm reception for ‘Cold Feet’ internationally,” said Dan Gopal, executive vice president for EMEA Distribution and Global Partner Sales. “We are delighted that the series appeals to loyal fans of the original series and new fans alike.”

“Cold Feet” is produced by Big Talk Productions for ITV. Creator Mike Bullen serves as executive producer alongside Kenton Allen and Matthew Justice for Big Talk. ITV’s Senior Drama Commissioner Victoria Fea will oversee production of the second season.
