Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson and various cast members of the HBO series are paying tribute to Angus Cloud. The actor died on Monday in Oakland, Calif.

“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon,” wrote Levinson, who has directed almost every episode of “Euphoria.” “He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”

On “Euphoria,” Cloud portrayed Fez, a drug dealer with a soft side facing the dangers of his town’s seedy underbelly. A fan-favorite cast member, Cloud starred in the series alongside Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow and many more. Discovered by the show’s casting department while working in a restaurant in New York, “Euphoria” marked the start of Cloud’s acting career, which continued with the 2021 feature “North Hollywood” and the upcoming Alex Wolff-led drama “The Line.”

Javon “Wanna” Walton, who played Cloud’s on-screen little brother Ashtray on “Euphoria,” shared a post to Instagram remembering his co-star.

“Euphoria’s” Sydney Sweeney also took to Instagram to honor her late co-star, writing: “Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to post, and I’m struggling to find all the words. You will be missed more than you know, but I’m so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I’m sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could’ve had one more hug and 7-11 run. All my love is with you.”

Hunter Shafer posted a tribute to Cloud on Instagram Wednesday, writing, “Angus was a sunshine. To have known his warmth, his light and his love was nothing short of a gift. I’m so grateful to have shared so many enormous fits of laughter, so many sweet moments, and the joy of getting to make something together that we loved so much. I love you Angus. Thank you for everything.”

Maude Apatow, who plays Lexi, paid tribute to Cloud on Wednesday. In Season 2 of “Euphoria,” Lexi and Fex grow very close to each other and develop a budding relationship.

“Angus was the funniest person ever,” she wrote. “I would get so excited to see on the schedule that we would be working together because I knew we’d have the best day, laughing so hard. He was the sweetest and made everyone around him so happy. He was just the best. Words can’t really capture how magical of a person he was. My heart is broken. Angus, getting to know and work with you was one of the greatest joys and blessings of my life. I will love you forever.”

Storm Reid, who plays Gia, the sister to Zendaya’s Rue, shared a statement on her Instagram story alongside footage of Cloud’s performance on the show: “The tears just won’t stop.”

Colman Domingo, who portrays Ali Muhammad on “Euphoria,” shared a photo of the cast posing together, highlighting Cloud’s smile: “That was his smile. That was him. May he rest sweetly in peace.”

In a statement to People, Paula Marshall, who portrayed the mother to Jacob Elordi’s character Nate Jacobs, memorialized Cloud: “He was kind and gracious and so unique. You couldn’t take your eyes off him, on film or on set. How lucky we all were to have witnessed his work. It was beyond truthful, every damn take. My heart hurts.”

Filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who directed Cloud on the upcoming feature “Freaky Tales,” mourned the actor: “We are so shocked and saddened by the awful news. Angus brought such a unique energy and vitality to our set and his work. We will remember him as a bright, patient, vibrant human being and a devoted collaborator who we felt lucky to work alongside. What a devastating loss. We didn’t know him long, but we will miss him dearly. Along with the rest of the world, we are thinking about his family right now, sending them strength and love.”
