ESPN has issued an apology after a woman flashed her breast during the Sugar Bowl.
Associated Press reports that the sports giant released a statement on Tuesday (Jan. 1) after the New Orleans bowl game. “We regret that this happened and apologize that the video aired in the telecast,” the company told AP.
The incident happened during a quick commercial break from the Washington and Texas showdown. As the camera panned through Bourbon Street, a woman was seen pulling down her top to expose her boob at someone nearby. A couple walking through with their baby can also be seen in the footage, with the mother taken aback.
The clip went viral on social media and garnered a bevy of opinions. One account spoke to Bourbon Street’s known craziness. “Two things are almost guaranteed on Bourbon Street: you’re gonna see some [breasts] and somebody is gonna ask if you want to buy some cocaine,” they typed. Another account wondered why a baby was present in the designated party area. “And why did that lady bring her baby to Bourbon Street at night?”

But don’t be fooled; the real craziness was on the football field. The Washington Huskies and Texas Longhorns squared off for a chance to reach the National Championship. The Huskies struck first as star quarterback Micahel Penix Jr. threw for a touchdown on their opening drive.
However, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers led his team up and down the field to keep his squad in the game. With 13 seconds on the clock, the Longhorns’ season rested in Ewers’ hands. The Huskies led 37-31, and a Texas touchdown would, at the very least, tie the game. Ewers took the snap on fourth down and launched one into the end-zone, but was broken up by Huskies’ cornerback, Elijah Jackson. The incomplete pass sealed Washington’s fate as the final spot in the College Football Playoffs.
On Monday (Jan. 8), Washington will face off against the Michigan Wolverines for the National Championship.
