Esko girl wins local Lions Peace Poster Contest

2023-24 Lions International Peace Poster Contest

Anja VanderMeiden, of Cloquet, and Lilly Johnson, of Carlton, earned honorable mentions.

Olivia's poster advances to the District 5M10 Poster Contest, where one piece will move on to the international level, according to a news release from Joel Soukkala of the Encore Performing Arts Center and Gallery.

The Carlton Area Lions Club and Encore sponsored the contest, open to all Carlton County students who will be 11, 12, or 13 years old on Nov. 15.

The international grand prize winner will receive a trip to an awards ceremony, where they will receive $5,000. There will also be 23 merit award winners who will receive $500 each.
