Social Security to date is not adding to the deficit, the Social Security fund as of end of 2018 the fund has a balance of $2.3 trillion and that's with a "T"; any shortfall on the monthly payout is deducted from the fund and NOT added to the deficit. But everyone wanting to get rid of Social Security has been blaming it for the deficit and that is not the case. I know that eventually the fund will be exhausted if the cap on Social Security taxable income is not raised or abolished.
