Erin Napier Sneaks Up on Husband Ben While He’s Planning a Surprise for Her on “Home Town” — Watch! (Exclusive)

“I’m not good at lying," Ben admits, before Erin correctly guesses what the surprise is

Ben Napier works on a special Mother's Day surprise for his wife, Erin, in Sunday’s episode of Home Town — but she catches him in the act.

The woodworker, 40, plans to build a greenhouse in the couple’s backyard in Laurel, Miss., using only salvaged materials. And in the above clip, Erin, 38, sneaks up on him during his covert mission.

Caught off guard, Ben says he thought Erin was at the house of her friend Aly, whom they’re working on a separate project for.

“I’m really good at surprises and keeping a secret,” Ben says, talking to camera. “I’m not good at lying.”

“It’s really hard to convince your wife to trust you when you’ve dug a giant crater on the side of the hill on your property,” he admits.

“Can you trust me?” Ben asks Erin, telling her, “It’s a surprise.”

When Erin wants to know if it’s “something pretty,” he replies, “I think it is.” “The girls will think it is,” he adds, referring to their two daughters, 6-year-old Helen and 2-year-old Mae.

Erin asks if the surprise is “expensive,” to which Ben responds, “No, it’s all salvaged. Everything I’m using is reclaimed.”

He then assures her: “You’re going to love it – I promise."

“You know what, honestly, it’s like a weight off my shoulders now that Erin actually knows what I’m doing,” he shares. “But she doesn’t really know. She just kind of knows.”

Erin finally then reveals she’s on to his secret after all, asking, “It’s a greenhouse, isn’t it?”

“I didn’t say that,” he insists before the pair tell each other, “I love you.”

Past episodes of Home Town this season have seen the HGTV couple try pickleball, go blueberry picking and play a makeshift game of shuffleboard.

They even tackled a major demolition that had Ben feeling like Indiana Jones.

In another episode, Erin and Ben visited Jones College, the school where they fell in love in 2004.

“This is where we met,” Erin said of their alma mater. “We had our first date in the student union. Everyone on both sides of our family went to school here.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, celebrated 15 years of marriage in November.
