Erin Andrews Says the 'Taylor Swift Effect' Has Been Amazing for Her Clothing Line (Exclusive)

The FOX Sports reporter opens up about her fan gear clothing line WEAR, and what it meant for the brand after Taylor Swift wore a jacket from the line to cheer on Travis Kelce

Taylor's got the Midas touch.

Erin Andrews is opening up about what the "Taylor Swift Effect" has been doing for her clothing line WEAR by Erin Andrews. While the line was the leading sports brand apparel for women even before Taylor Swift wore one of their Kansas City Chiefs jackets to a home game to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce, the newfound visibility didn't hurt at all.

"It's had an amazing effect," Andrews tells PEOPLE of Swift's support. "Not just on our Kansas City Chiefs stuff, but I'm getting DMs and mentions in pictures of women in our Ohio State gear, our Miami Dolphins gear, our baseball gear as we're in the World Series. They're like, 'Well if Taylor Swift is going to wear it, I'm going to wear it!' So it's just been pretty fascinating and so cool to watch."

She adds, "Obvious anything she touches [is gold]."

Andrews says she came up with the idea for the brand after realizing there was a gaping hole in the industry when it came to fashionable fan gear for women. (WEAR by Erin Andrews sells jackets, sweaters, joggers, dresses, shorts, hats, scarves and even baby clothes, for teams in every major league out there, including the women's leagues.)

"Look, I'm a huge sports fan. I married an athlete," she says, of husband Jarett Stoll, a former pro hockey player. "I knew there was a need for other women out there to have this," she says.

Despite plenty of doors shutting in her face when she was getting started, she says she persevered.

"I just kept pushing. I'm so grateful that I've had this team around me that people believed in me. And honestly that's why, when I turned on the television and saw Taylor Swift wearing our jacket, I cried. I was jumping up and down screaming, because I remembered all the people that said to us, 'You're stuff isn't elevated enough. I don't think our buyers will be interested in this. You're a big name, not that big of a name to push a line.'"

She adds with a laugh, 'So it was like my Matt Damon moment: 'How about them apples!'
