Erin Andrews is a proud boy mom!

The Fox sportscaster and her husband, former NHL player Jarret Stoll, became first-time parents in June 2023 with the birth of their son Mack.

The couple, who got married in 2017 after dating for five years, were open about their fertility journey before welcoming Mack via surrogate.

Prior to his birth, Andrews underwent a 10-year IVF process during which she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2016. “It’s not easy,” the NFL reporter told the Today show, calling the IVF experience “one of the most challenging things in my life.”

After several failed rounds of IVF, the pair decided to start their family with the help of a surrogate. Unfortunately, they suffered a devastating loss when a set of twins didn't make it. The couple later restarted the process, which Andrews called their "last hope."

Luckily, their final IVF transfer worked, and they welcomed their new baby boy in the summer of 2023. “I keep staring at him,” Andrews said when asked about her transition to motherhood. “I want to study everything about him. I want to make up for lost time.”

Here’s everything to know about Erin Andrews' son, Mack Roger Stoll.

In 2021, Andrews wrote about her fertility struggles in a personal essay for Facebook Bulletin. The sportscaster revealed that she was undergoing IVF treatment for the seventh time, calling it a “time-consuming and emotionally draining process” that left her feeling “so stressed out.”

“I have been trying to do IVF treatment for a while now, but sometimes it doesn't go the way you want it. Your body just doesn't allow it,” she wrote, adding that she wanted to “be vocal and honest” about her story.

"Now that it's my seventh time, something just hit me. Why am I keeping this such a secret when this is just a part of our lives?” Andrews continued. “Instead of feeling ashamed, we need to give ourselves more love."

She added that although it felt like a "lonely" experience, "so many" people were going through it and she was inspired to talk more about the process.

Andrews and Stoll's son Mack Roger Stoll was born via surrogate on June 28, 2023, weighing in at 7 lb., 7 oz.

The following month, the new mom shared more details about his birth on her podcast, Calm Down with Erin Charissa, telling co-host Charissa Thompson said there was “a little bit of an emergency in the delivery room.”

Andrews explained that there were concerns about his heartbeat due to how quickly he dropped into the birth canal. Although it caused some chaos in the delivery room, she noted that it was “nothing major.”

He was “ready” to come into the world

During her interview with Today show hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, Andrews spoke about the day Mack was born, saying he was “ready” to come into the world.

Andrews explained that the delivery process was faster than expected, saying their surrogate swiftly entered labor. “She pushed once and he came out,” she said. “He came fast. My man was ready!”

During the delivery, Andrews was unsure whether or not she’d be in the room. “I’m not going to lie, I get really queasy, and I’ve been known to pass out,” the former Dancing with the Stars co-host revealed, saying she’d initially planned to stand off to the side with Stoll. But their surrogate wanted to share the moment with her.

“Right before he came, she asked to hold my hand,” Andrews said. “So, I grabbed her hand and she had a tear coming out of her eye.” Recalling the moment, she said it was one she’d never forget. “Our whole journey with our surrogate and her family was incredible.”

He has a four-legged sibling

Before their son's arrival, the couple began prepping for parenthood with a four-legged addition to the family.

“We’re getting a new dog — it’s our first child, so we’re very excited,” Andrews said in a June 2017 interview with Health. “He’s a golden retriever; we’re naming him Howard.”

Andrews later admitted that she was “a bit of a hypochondriac" and worried about her pup in the beginning. “I’ve never had a kid before, so this is my first go at it,” the TV personality told PEOPLE later that summer. “I don’t want to screw this poor guy up. I know football, but I don’t know animals or kids!”

But now, it seems that Howard is the one having to adjust. Andrews shared a sweet photo of her dog sleeping next to his newborn brother on Instagram writing, “Baby steps for Howie. Not used to sharing the spotlight.”

Andrews and Stoll are competitive parents

As a sports broadcaster and a retired NHL player, Andrews and Stoll have a competitive spirit, and parenthood hasn’t changed that.

“We have a competitive household,” Andrews told Kotb and Guthrie about the adjustment to having a newborn. “We both want to nail it better than each other. If he starts peeing through his diaper, I'll say, 'I got it, I got it,' because I want to [do it] better than him.”

As for who’s winning, she admitted that Stoll has the upper hand when burping while she’s better at swaddling Mack.

He’s already a sports fan

Given who his parents are, it’s no surprise that Mack is immersed in sports.

In a feature article for Glamour in July 2023, Andrews wrote about her experience with IVF and surrogacy, in particular their close bond with their surrogate.

“Experiencing pregnancy with our surrogate was amazing,” she wrote, adding that “she was the perfect fit” for her and Stoll.

“My girl was very special,” she shared, calling her “calm, positive, and just so loving” before describing how Mack’s introduction to sports happened before he was born.

“When the baby was starting to get bigger, she’d turn on the playoffs because she’d say, ‘I want him to hear your voice.’ ”

Andrews also revealed that she hopes to share her passions with Mack. “I’m excited to watch a game with my kid. I can’t wait to watch Monday Night Football with my son.”

Shortly after the article was published, Andrews posted a photo on Instagram of her and 1-month-old watching NFL Training Camp with the caption, “Christmas morning for me❤️🥹🏈.”

He wakes up to a party each morning

In an interview with Shape, Andrews shared the surprising way her morning routine has changed since becoming a mom. Most new parents wake up exhausted, but Andrews and her husband start the day by throwing a party for their baby boy.

“I love seeing him in the morning,” she said in September 2023. “A friend told us a good thing to get in the habit of is to throw a party when you first see your kid in the morning, like 'How was your night?' 'What did you dream about?' He can't answer back obviously, but we just throw a party, it's so fun.”

“He loves every minute of it, it’s hilarious,” she continued, explaining how the morning parties involve a relaxing bath.

“Our dude just sits there and takes it all in," Andrews added. "We've got spa music going, I've been playing the soundtrack from The Holiday and a whole routine with shea butter ... He loves it, which is really, really cute."

Speaking with Today, Andrews shared how excited she is to build a bond with Mack. “I want the connection with him. I can’t wait for the chemistry," she said.

In her article for Glamour, she elaborated even more, explaining that her favorite part of motherhood is watching Stoll as a father.

“The best part of being a mom so far is seeing my husband with Mack,” she wrote. “He’s wanted a baby forever. Just sitting there watching my husband with him. He was so excited to just sit and watch Seinfeld with him.”

Andrews feels "mom guilt" while working away from home

While talking to PEOPLE in March 2024, Andrews said that the "mom guilt is real."

"I didn't think I would have much guilt. I went into this pretty naive," she said. "I thought, 'I've had this career my whole life; I'll be fine. I travel, that's just kind of part of my life.' But I started feeling guilty when I was away."

She added, "Yesterday, we were doing a whole day shoot with Enfamil, which was pretty awesome, but I felt so guilty. I feel bad when I didn't get to put him to bed or I missed bath time or I missed dinner, so that was a little difficult."
