Erie Art Museum's Gallery Night

Visit all your favorite local galleries and stop by for live music by Optimistic Apocalypse and an artist demo at the Art Museum Friday during Gallery Night with printmaker Alex Anthes. Celebrate the opening of Las Calles de Oaxaca and Revolución Chicha. Cash bar available. There is no admission charge for Gallery Night, though donations are welcome. Kids' Night Out

Kids' Night Out at the expERIEnce Children's Museum, 420 French St., takes place on the same night, Friday, as Gallery Night, from 6 to 8 p.m. Children ages 4-10 will have creative activities available to do while parents enjoy Gallery Night at the Erie Art Museum. Kids will be working on printmaking, having a snack and enjoying free play throughout the museum. Experienced instructors will guide activities, cost is $25. 'The Brothers Size'

Dramashop, 1001 State St., will put on "The Brothers Size," by Tarell Alvin McCraney Friday, Saturday, and Sept. 22, 23, 29, 30 and Oct. 1. Opening night, Friday, will have an early start time of 6:30 p.m. Light snacks and drinks, as well as a post-show talk-back that will feature the cast, crew, and production team, are included. This event will be $25. Remaining shows will be at 7:30 p.m. at $15. On Oct. 1, a matinee showing will take place at 2 p.m. for $10. For more information, visit bit.ly/3Lb2ide.

Zoolarious with the Erie Zoo: A Comedy Benefit Show

Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. at The Bunker at Lavery Brewing Co., 128 W. 12th St. The zoo benefit tickets are $20 in advance or $25 day of if not sold out. Lavery's and Off Constantly Comedy are working together on the event, which will take place in Lavery's Bunker. The bunker is located in the brick building behind the main bar and is accessible from the 11th Street parking lot. Seating will start at 7 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Lavery's will have food and drafts available inside, and canned beer available in the bunker. Bayfront Maritime Center's 11th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta

The 11th annual Cardboard Boat Regatta sets sail Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is a benefit for the Erie Maritime Foundation, 40 Holland St. Cardboard boat entry is $50. The boats may be made of only corrugated cardboard and sealed with any of the following: tape, caulk, glue, latex paint, or varnish. Teams will compete in races, two by two, and vie for the Fastest Time trophy in four divisions – Children (under 12), Teen (13-18), Adult (19 and up), and Mixed Ages. There are also judge’s awards for Most Creative and Most Dramatic Sinking. The Crowd Favorite trophy goes to the boat that collects the most donations in their buckets (at the Raffle/50/50 tent) over the course of the day. Entry fee covers two shirts. 'Purple Haze: A Conservation Film'

A documentary screening will take place Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Tom Ridge Environmental Center at Presque Isle State Park, 301 Peninsula Drive. $15. The film follows a man chasing America’s favorite backyard bird halfway around the world. The Purple Martin Conservation Association film screening will be followed by a Q & A session with PMCA staff. Purchase tickets at bit.ly/3R94Ufn. Punk Rock for Charity

The King's Rook Club, 1921 Peach St., will put on a concert, Punk Rock for Charity, featuring Running Backwards on Saturday, 8:45 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday. Tickets are $13.50. This event will also be taking donations for mental health and suicide prevention causes. The club is working with Opportunities Unlimited of Erie.
