Eric Bana Hasn’t Heard of Red Hulk, Won’t Be Watching Captain America: Brave New World

Eric Bana may have starred in 2003’s Hulk, but these days he has no interest in the classic Marvel character.

During an interview with Men’s Journal to promote the recent release of his new film, Australian-set crime/thriller Force of Nature: The Dry 2, Bana revealed he wasn’t aware Harrison Ford is playing a version of Hulk - called Red Hulk - in Captain America: Brave New World.

There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. But it probably means he won’t be reprising arguably his most iconic role in a Marvel film any time soon. Read our exchange with Bana below.

Men’s Journal:

You gave an incredible portrayal of the Hulk. How excited are you to see Harrison Ford play the Hulk in Captain America?

Eric Bana:

“I've not heard of that.”

Men’s Journal:

No? Harrison Ford's playing Red Hulk in Captain America.

Eric Bana:

“I don't even know what the Red Hulk is.”

Men’s Journal:

Oh, he's like a really angry version of the Hulk, if that could be a thing.

Eric Bana:

“I'm not a good comic book aficionado. I'm sorry.”

Men’s Journal:

Oh well, you did a very good job as the Hulk anyway.

Eric Bana:

“Thanks, mate.”
