The Equalizer 3 is finally here. On September 1, the long-awaited action film hit theaters, concluding a near decade-long franchise. In the latest chapter, Denzel Washington reprises his role as Robert McCall, a former special agent who comes out of retirement to fight brutal criminals. While living in Southern Italy, McCall discovers his friends are being controlled by the local mafia. When their lives are put in danger, McCall embarks on a thrilling adventure to save them.

The Equalizer 3 is deemed the final chapter of the franchise. Even so, people are wondering if they should stick around for a post-credits scene that might tease another sequel or spinoff. I hate to deliver bad news on a Friday, but no. There is not a post-credits teaser. As they say, all good things must come to an end.

However, if you were hoping to learn more about McCall’s origin story, there could be an Equalizer prequel in the future. In an interview with NME, the film’s director, Antoine Fuqua, said he's interested in McCall’s origin story. “I definitely think about it a lot,” Fuqua explained. “Especially now with the new technology and AI and all that kind of stuff…Is there a story to be told about how [McCall] became this person—the younger version? I’ve had that conversation with Richard Wenk [one of the writers of the Equalizer films] quite a bit.”

While we wait to learn more, you can watch The Equalizer 3 in theaters and stream the first two films at home.
