Louisiana-born axeman and songsmith, Kenny Wayne Shephard has sold millions of albums while throwing singles into the top 10, shining a light on the rich blues of the past and forging ahead his own modern twist on a classic sound he has embodied since his teens. Theatrical Intimacy Education: Best Practices Workshop

Goshen Theater

A workshop held by Goshen Theater Education Department special guest artist Lusie Cuskey of Theatrical Intimacy Education, the workshop will feature tools for developing a consent-based process in a performance and rehearsal setting, setting and respecting boundaries, desexualizing the theatrical and filming process, choreographing intimacy, and proper documentation practices.

Participants must be 18 years or older.

Registration is $100 and financial aid is available. A lunch break will be taken halfway through the session.

An Evening Along the Path

The Nappanee Arts Council will host an evening on Art Path. Admission is free and activities include a photo scavenger hunt, bracelet stations, face painting, rock painting station, camp fire at Scout Cabin, balloon art, flashlight walk on the trails, community art project, and the opening of butterfly trail.

Food options will include Ruhe 152 Beer Garden, cookie decorating with Sis and Me Bakery, s'mores popcorn from Dutch Kernel, and food trucks including Rico Suave, DonutNV, and Loupa's Chicken.

Entertainment for the evening will be Steve Foresman and Byron Craft.

"The Stinky Cheese Man, and other fairly stupid tales"

Though the characters may be familiar, favorite storybook fables are uproariously derailed in this adaptation of Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith's quintessential children's book of fractured fairy tales.

Everything from "Chicken Little" to "The Gingerbread Man" gets a complete makeover. Fun, music, and witty narration accompany the likes of ineloquent giants, sassy barnyard animals, colossal cow pies, and enough stinky cheese to go around. Annette Kaczanowski is directing, assisted by Dottie Hicks. The play is presented through the Michael Cripe Studio, underwritten by Label Logic, Inc.

Magical Me Day

Muggles and magical beings can celebrate all things magical from popular books and movies with classes, shopping, food, games and crafts.

Full class schedule is $25, but classes can also be taken individually.

Students can register for: Care of Magical Creatures (meet mystical animals); Transfiguration (turn ordinary items into something amazing); History of Magic (test knowledge with clues & a scavenger hunt); and Potions (identify ingredients to select potions).

Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Walk-ins will be welcome while supplies last but advance registration is recommended.

Classes will be held every 60 minutes and are about 30 minutes unless noted.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Musical Conexion has thoughtfully curated an evening of music celebrating the beautiful union of melody, language and early learning.

Musical Conexion is a bilingual educational enrichment program cultivating motor skills and cognitive development through music, as well as empathy and appreciation for cultural diversity. Cote Godoy, (Chile) and Kelsie Lee (Fort Wayne, Indiana) are both educators and musicians, combining their experience with distinct pedagogical approaches in primary schools and early childhood establishments on both continents.

The Grammy-winning ensemble Apollo's Fire is a period-instrument orchestra founded by harpsichordist and conductor Jeannette Sorrell. Dedicated to the Baroque ideal that music should evoke passion in the listeners, Apollo's Fire brings to life the music of the past for audiences of today. The Apollo's Fire musicians are creative artists who share Sorrell's passion for drama and rhetoric. For this special performance, the orchestra will be joined by a chorus for a performance of Sorrell's new adaptation of Handel's Israel in Egypt.

Jerry Seinfeld has been hailed for his uncanny ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere. Seinfeld's comedy career took off after his first appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981. Eight years later, he teamed up with fellow comedian Larry David to create what was to become the most successful comedy series in television history: "Seinfeld." The show ran on NBC for nine seasons and won numerous Emmy, Golden Globe, and People's Choice awards. Seinfeld was named the greatest television show of all time in 2009 by TV Guide, and in 2012, it was identified as the best sitcom ever in a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll.

His latest Emmy-nominated Netflix projects include "Jerry Before Seinfeld," "23 Hours to Kill," and the highly acclaimed, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" web series.

Hooked Like Helen is the recent recipient of several prestigious accolades in the independent music scene: Nikki and Jon were honored with Duo Of The Year and EP Of The Year at the sixth and seventh annual Josie Music Awards respectively, boasting a total of nine nominations in multiple categories of the largest independent award show in the world. "Liar" was recently named a winner in the distinguished International Songwriting Competition for the second consecutive year, following wins in two categories in ISC's sister competition, Unsigned Only in 2020. The panel of judges included Charli XCX, Robert Smith and Grouplove among other well-respected industry legends.

The concert is part of the Lerner on the Lawn series in partnership with ArtWalk.
