Enterprise girl wows audience ahead of Carnegie Hall performance

ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — A 9-year-old from Enterprise set to play at the prestigious Carnegie Hall this summer took the stage at Enterprise State Community College to show off her talents.

Alice Pack, an Enterprise State Community College Youth and Community Orchestra member, was chosen to perform on June 19 in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

ESCC held a concert on Monday, April 29, to celebrate Pack’s talents. The event was free, but community members donated funds to help with Pack’s journey to the Big Apple.

During Monday night’s show, Pack performed It Is Well, Tchaikovsky’s Theme, Prelude No. 14 in F Major, Sonatina Op. 36. No. 2, Ballade, and Two Chattering Aunties on the piano. She also played Swallowtail Jig, Come Thou Fount, and Nightingale Serenade on the violin.

Several pieces that Pack performed during the show will be played at Carnegie Hall.

Pack was invited to play at the music hall after winning first place in the Elementary Division of the Gulf Coast Steinway Society Piano Competition in early February.

She is under the instruction of ESCC instructor Darrien Lee, a doctoral student at Florida State University, and Dothan native Andy Martin, a 2023 Steinway and Sons Top Teacher Award recipient.
