Netflix, which has long been the dominant name in streaming, grabbed the No. 1 spot on this week’s Whip Media movie ranker, thanks to “Enola Holmes 2” pulling in the most U.S. viewers last weekend, according to Whip Media viewer data, which is based on more than 23 million global registered users of the TV Time app, which allows fans to track their favorite TV shows and movies.

The sequel to 2020’s “Enola Holmes” was one of the most anticipated flicks of November, and fans clearly jumped at their opportunity to watch it, following its release last week. In the new movie, Millie Bobby Brown of “Stranger Things” fame reprises her role as Enola Holmes, who is now taking on her first case as a detective. To solve the case of a missing girl, though, she enlists the help of her famous brother, Sherlock, played by Henry Cavill.

Overall, Netflix had a strong weekend, with four of the top 10 movies of the week on the service. Netflix’s winners also included “The School for Good and Evil” and “The Good Nurse,” which came in at No. 5 and 6, respectively. “Enola Holmes” also looked to get a boost from the sequel’s release, too, with the first “Holmes” flick coming in at No. 8.

Meanwhile, Roku enjoyed the best performance for one of its originals to date, as “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” earned the silver medal for the weekend. The biopic, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as the ‘80s and ‘90s king of music parodies, hit The Roku Channel on Nov. 4. The movie features a star-studded cast that includes big names like Evan Rachel Wood, Will Forte, Conan O’Brien, Jack Black and Quinta Brunson.

Apple TV+ had a strong weekend, too, thanks to “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.” The documentary chronicled a six-year portion of the singer-actress’ life, giving viewers an inside look at how Gomez managed a number of personal struggles, including her diagnosis with bipolar disorder and struggles with fame. Spearheading the film was Alek Keshishian, the director of 1991’s “Madonna: Truth or Dare” documentary — one of the highest grossing documentaries ever. His expertise, coupled with Gomez’s star power, makes it easy to see why it was the third-most streamed movie of last weekend.

Gomez wasn’t the only popular singer to make the top 10 this week, with Harry Styles’ latest movie, “My Policeman,” coming in at No. 7. “My Policeman,” based on the 2012 novel of the same name, follows Styles as a gay policeman in 1950s England who marries a schoolteacher — while still being tied to another man.

Finishing up the weekly ranker are two movies that have performed remarkably well over the last month. “Hocus Pocus 2” continued to pull in viewers for Disney+, coming in ninth place for the week. The sequel to 1993’s “Hocus Pocus” has been in the top 10 each week since it hit Disney+ on Sept. 30.

And rounding out the top 10 was “Halloween Ends,” the latest entry to the long-running “Halloween” franchise. This was the fourth straight week “Halloween Ends” and Peacock made the top 10 — so don’t be surprised when Michael Myers gets revived for yet another “Halloween” flick.
