‘Empire’ Finale Recap: Unexpected Wedding and Possible Lyon Death
Fans have been wondering whether Jamal would survive taking a bullet for his dad, and on the season finale of Empire, we immediately found out that Jamal made it through his surgery. The show took place three weeks after the ASAs and just before Hakeem’s wedding, which ended up being a complete disaster.
Anika was served a subpoena at the wedding preparty by someone dressed as a waiter, who then ran out of the place, starting a scuffle between Shyne and some of the security. The fight was the last straw for Laura, who told Hakeem she couldn’t live with the drama anymore and walked out of her own wedding.
Lucious came up with the plan to marry Anika so she couldn’t testify against him (which Cookie did not like), so they tied the knot right then and there. Although it might not matter, because the show ended with a fight between Rhonda and Anika, and it looked like one (or both) of them fell over the edge of the building.
