Some aspects of the ceremony are a given. Without a doubt, Stephen Colbert will entertain in his first time as an Emmy host, and political commentary will be abundant in acceptance speeches and presenter jokes. But the winners are always up for the grabs until the seal on the envelope is broken (or sometimes, in the case of the Oscars, even after).
Already, shows like Stranger Things, Saturday Night Live, Westworld, and Big Little Lies have taken home early victories. Performers such as Melissa McCarthy and Dave Chappelle (for SNL) and Alexis Bledel (for The Handmaid’s Tale have won too.
But there are still plenty of big awards left for Sunday night, including best drama, best comedy, best limited series, best actor, best actress, and more.
