2023 Emmy Predictions:
Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series

Fleishman is in Trouble
Fleishman is in Trouble

Weekly Commentary (Updated Aug. 22, 2023): Acting nominees Richard Jenkins and Evan Peters (“Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”) and Steven Yeun and Ali Wong (“Beef”) added producing noms to their Emmy celebrations.

“Dahmer” marks Peters’ second executive producer credit (the first was “American Horror Story”), and along with being a frontrunner in lead actor (limited), he could take home two statuettes this year. However, the show will likely face an uphill battle amid the Hollywood strikes, primarily due to producer Ryan Murphy continuing to shoot the latest “American Horror Story: Delicate” season with Kim Kardashian and threatening to sue the WGA strike captain.

Netflix still has a probable winner with “Beef,” where Yeun and Wong are viable contenders for their acting performances. It’s also one of two series (the other being “Succession”) that’s nominated in each major acting category.

Ewan McGregor nabbed his first producing nod for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” alongside Kathleen Kennedy, who is a double nominee this year with her other “Star Wars” spin-off “Andor” in the drama series race.

Actress Reese Witherspoon, an Emmy winner for producing the limited series “Big Little Lies,” adds another nom for “Daisy Jones & the Six” under her successful Hello Sunshine company. The show could also be a dark horse in the race if enough members catch up with it.

The rankings for the category are below.

The final Emmy voting rounds open on Aug. 17 at 9 a.m. PT and close on Aug. 28 at 10 p.m. PST. The 75th Emmy Awards are scheduled to air on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. The Creative Arts ceremony will occur on Saturday, January 6, and Sunday, January 7. An edited version will air on FXX on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET. All events will take place at the Peacock Theater at LA Live.
