Emma Stone said being nude in 'Poor Things' wasn't as bad as eating 60 Portuguese tarts and wanting to puke

• Stone, who plays Bella Baxter, said having to eat 60 Portuguese tarts was worse.

• Stone joked that the nudity in the film is all anyone wants to talk to her about.

Emma Stone said eating 60 Portuguese custard tarts and wanting to "puke" was more challenging than filming the much talked about sex scenes in "Poor Things."

Stone plays Bella Baxter, a pregnant woman brought back to life by a scientist who finds her dead body on a river bank and transplants her unborn baby's brain into her head. This initially gives her a childlike outlook on life.

As Bella comes of age, she discovers sex and travels the world with a sleazy lawyer, Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), resulting in much onscreen nudity.

But when asked during a pre-Oscars panel on Saturday if it was tough to play "an explicitly sexual character," Stone said other aspects of filmer were harder.

Referring to a scene where Bella takes a liking to desserts in Lisbon, she said: "Figuring out how to walk or eat 60 Portuguese tarts, which the first bite is delicious, but by the end you really want to puke, or her seeing death and decay for the first time, much more challenging than the nudity, which is the only thing people want to seem to ask me about!"

Per People, the "La La Land" and "Cruella" star said that the sex scenes were easy to film because it was all planned beforehand.

"In some ways, that was the easiest part because that was choreographed. Those were quick. We knew exactly what we were doing," she said.

This isn't the first time that Stone has discussed the film's explicit nature.

Back in January, she said that she isn't someone who "wants to be naked all the time," but she wanted to play Bella as faithfully to the story as possible.
