Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder are tearing down walls in their new Showtime series The Curse — and that might not be the only thing that’s crumbling.

More from TVLine

Stone (La La Land) and Fielder (The Rehearsal) play newlywed home renovators dogged by an ominous curse in the “genre-bending series,” which will premiere Sunday, Nov. 12 at 10/9c on Showtime, TVLine has learned. The premiere will also be available to stream two days earlier on Friday, Nov. 10 via Paramount+ With Showtime and on demand for Showtime subscribers.

The Curse “explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show,” per the official description, and the first-look photos from Showtime feature Stone and Fielder donning hard hats and grabbing sledgehammers to remodel a house. We also see them standing stone-faced in a high-end design room, and then Fielder manning a bulldozer and Stone seemingly fleeing in front of an ultra-modern glass-walled house. Plus, we meet Benny Safdie’s character Dougie, a cool dude sporting long hair and a goatee and casually leaning on a sports car.

Along with Stone, Fielder and Safdie, The Curse’s cast includes Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law, Psych) and Constance Shulman (Orange Is the New Black). Fielder and Safdie serve as co-creators, writers and executive producers, with Safdie’s brother Josh Safdie — with whom he co-wrote and co-directed Uncut Gems — also on board as an EP.
