Welcome to The A-List, where we review the products your favorite celebrities wear and use that we actually really love, too.

I’ve thought a lot about ballet flats recently. Specifically, when did I last wear them? And more importantly, why did I stop?

I vividly recall trekking around in an unsupportive pair back in eighth grade, but after that, high school was the time for boat shoes, while college was pretty much dedicated to cushy sneakers and fuzzy slides. But now, more than a decade later, I’ve fallen in love with flats again, and Vivaia is the reason why — and that was before I even spotted Emma Roberts wearing the brand’s shoes.

The American Horror Story actress shared a “postcard from the edge” back in July, wearing a pair of checkered Vivaia flats. While her Aria Walker pair weren’t the same style as my Margot 2.0s, it confirmed to me that they really were as good as I was making them out to be.

Other celebrity fans of the brand include Selena Gomez, who has worn the Yaffa Pointed-Toe Knot Sandals, plus a pair of Vivaia two-tone chunky heels, per the brand. Scarlett Johansson, on the other hand, opted for an open-toe pair of heels at an event in September. Katie Holmes and Alexa Chung have also been seen in Vivaia sneakers and Mary Jane shoes, respectively.

As for my Margot 2.0s, which the brand sent me, I was instantly drawn to the almond color, but they also come in the same checkered pattern as Roberts’ pair. I ordered my usual size, which ended up being too roomy — other shoppers said the same thing — so I went down a half-size. And after that, it was like the perfect Cinderella fit.

My toes never feel crammed and my feet feel like they’re on their own pillowy-perfect, bouncy trampolines. And no matter how long I wear them, I never have any ankle rubbing or blisters. The slip-ons are also super flexible and supportive, and they feel like the total opposite of the flat-as-pancake pairs I used to wear in middle school.

I’ve worn them a lot and love that I can slip them on quickly when I’m heading out of the house. I recently visited my friend in Miami, and we bopped from brunch to the museum to a high-end mall all in one day. And miraculously, I never once thought about my feet.

For a recent travel day, which involved two flights, a layover, and an entire day of flying, I went with them again and couldn’t have been happier. I didn’t have to waste time unlacing them in the fast-paced security line, and though I usually wear them with bare feet, I still had room for a cozy pair of in-flight socks if I wanted.

With so much wear, I was beginning to see some major dirt on mine. Luckily, they’re machine-washable, so I took out the inserts, tossed them inside, and put on a cold, delicate cycle. After laying them out in the sun to dry, I couldn’t believe how clean they looked.

Most of the dirt was gone and the color was vibrant and refreshed. If I ran them through the machine one more time, I seriously think they’d look like they came right out of the box.

After seeing my new kicks, my mom, a heels-only kind of gal, was truly impressed and ended up ordering two pairs of the Yaffa slip-ons, which is the same style Gomez wore. She copied me and got them in almond, along with the mustard yellow color. Like me, she’s also worn hers a handful of times.

From now on, the only question I’ll be thinking about is how will I ever live without my flats? I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have to. Keep scrolling to shop more Vivaia shoes now.
