Eminem takes a knee during Super Bowl halftime show, reportedly against NFL's wishes

The Super Bowl halftime show was banging on Sunday, as headliner Dr. Dre created the first-ever hip-hop halftime performance. He was joined by some of hip-hop’s greatest, like Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige. Rapper 50 Cent made a surprise appearance and Kendrick Lamar performed his hit “Alright”. But the most talked about moment of the show occurred at the end of Eminem’s performance of “Lose Yourself.”

The rapper took a knee to honor quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick, even though he was reportedly told by the NFL not to. But while the act may have made the NFL unhappy, it was overwhelmingly praised by viewers on social media.

The entire halftime performance was lit. Which is probably why so many people agree with LeBron James, who tweeted, “OMG!!!!!!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!! THE GREATEST HALFTIME SHOW I’VE EVER SEEN!!!”
