When Rebecca Ferguson spoke about her difficult co-worker who was not Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise, she probably didn’t expect a firestorm of headlines. The 40-year-old actress has set the internet into sleuthing mode as they try and figure out the star who “screamed” in her face and left her sobbing.

Now, another A-list celebrity has entered the chat to deny that it was her. Emily Blunt, who worked alongside Ferguson on the 2016 film, The Girl on the Train, had her rep speak to the Daily Mail after her name was circulated by fans. “Rebecca and Emily are friends and there’s nothing but love between them,” Blunt’s spokesperson said. Phew! That’s one big name off the list.

Ferguson only had nice things to say about The Devil Wears Prada star when the movie came out eight years ago. “First of all, Tate [Taylor] is a director I really, really wanted to work with,” she explained to EW in 2016 on why she took the role. “Second of all, the leading lady is a woman I’ve been wanting to work with for yonks and yonks — which is ‘years’ for me — Emily Blunt. It feels like I’ve been following in her footsteps: She worked with Tom Cruise, I worked with Tom Cruise. She worked with Meryl Streep, I worked with Meryl Streep!” That kinship served them well when they worked together on the film — Blunt was not the “idiot” co-star.

The Dune star detailed her experience with the unnamed celebrity on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast. “I remember there was a moment, and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out,” she recalled. “And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at.” Ferguson eventually told them to “eff off,” but the damage was done, and their remaining time together was a struggle.

Blunt wasn’t the only star to clear their name, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also made sure that fans knew that there was nothing but harmony between him and his Hercules co-star. “Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bulls—,” Johnson wrote on X. “Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.” Well, that famous star better be worried now because there is an army of fans and The Rock waiting to find out who they are.
