Teen Mom OG 's Ryan Edwards Released from Jail After 3 Months
Ryan Edwards has been released from jail.
The Teen Mom OG star was released from the Hamilton County Jail on Monday at 10 a.m., the public relations manager for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirms to PEOPLE. He had been in custody since Jan. 23, when he was arrested in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and charged with theft of services.
“Mr. Edwards is happy to be back with his family and looks forward to putting this behind him,” Edwards’ attorney says in a statement to PEOPLE.
Citing police documents, TMZ reported that Edwards allegedly walked out of a bar without paying his $36 bill in December 2018, and the bartender called police. The bartender reportedly recognized Edwards from his previous mugshots, prompting his January arrest.
Edwards, 31, was also booked on a previous heroin possession charge stemming from an outstanding warrant and had been held on no bond since.
According to RadarOnline, which was the first to report the news of Edwards’ release, the theft case has been dismissed.

The Red Bank County clerk’s office previously confirmed to PEOPLE that Edwards had appeared in court on Jan. 28 and that the case had been continued until April 15, when Edwards would be brought back for judgment. Edwards had been serving time in county jail ever since.

Edwards was first arrested for possession of heroin on March 12, 2017, according to the Red Bank County clerk’s office. In March 2018, Edwards was arrested for violating terms of his probation stemming from the charge, and in July, he was arrested for violating probation a second time.
Edwards has long battled substance abuse and completed his most recent stint in rehab in December. He missed the birth of his first child with wife Mackenzie, son Jagger, while receiving treatment in October.
